After a decade at Lacoste, Christophe Lemaire will replace Jean Paul Gaultier as creative director of Hermès.So this was the last Lemaire's collection for Lacoste. As you know, the Portuguese designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista has been named new creative director of Lacoste. I'm so exciting to see the next Lacoste collections designed by one of my favorite Portuguese designer's ever!
First of all we have to point out the fact that Lemaire has led to Lacoste to a level that will not be easy to overcome. The French designer was able to reinterpret the brand philosophy and give it a cool and contemporary air without misrepresenting what it has always distinguished the Lacoste - its timeless classic sporty style.
Pop Art, the bold lines of Bauhaus and architecture were the inspirations for this Lacoste Spring 2011 collection which meant bold colors and blocks of colors that dominated all the collection as the classic sporty silhouette with contemporary vibes as Lemaire use to. I really love the the sweet little sheaths in varying gradations of orange and persimmon. That's hot!

What's new about Lacoste beauty?
At Lacoste's Spring 2011 show sporty, practical braids and bright lips were a perfect match for the his/hers easy breezy stylish looks that tied in decades past with a clean color palette.
Good sportsmanship is always in fashion, and Lacoste loves to enhance its athletic heritage with a fully modern lifestyle update. The silhouettes were a bit of a gender bender, playing on Great Gatsby and the 80s, with the makeup accentuating the cheeks and the lips in a new custom blended 'fleuro-red" red shade created by James Kaliardos for the show.
