MILAN FASHION WEEK SPRING 2011 - Alberta Ferretti

Look at the most romantic and "Springfull" collection for next Spring (so far!). No it wasn't in Paris - the city of love - it was in MILAN, this afternoon! Alberta Ferretti Spring 2011 collection is beautiful! 

Think the opening sequence on ‘Little House of the Prairie’ or the Timotei and Cadbury’s flake ads.
Models in gladiator flats walked the runway in a selection of summery pieces we could wear right now on a very hot day in Milan.

The romantic collection presented us with chiffon ruffled dresses, floral maxi dresses, shorts, cool blazers and blouses with large embroidered sleeves.

There were many crochet pieces included bloomers, sweaters and bralets.The neutral color palette was warmed with some delicious caramel pieces, plus forest green and mustard yellow also featured.

Apart from the gladiator flats, the other key accessory was the wide brim straw hat.

The Alberta Ferretti Spring collection was full of the kind of nature motifs we saw in New York from Michael Kors and Rodarte, among others. 

Ferretti's romantic fairytale was told by sheer chiffon layers in fern, flower and bird prints bringing to mind a magic garden, worn by models with loose wavy hair, fraying, floppy straw hats and gladiator sandals with leafy cutouts and rope ties.Soft jackets and shorts came in a nubby, natural-colored linen, and blouses and dresses were pieced together from bits of cream chiffon, lace and macrame for a boho, 1970s ladies-of-the-canyon. Loveeeeeeeeee to dieeeeeeeeeee!
