Pringle of Scotland's show was a full stop in the glitter shades and neon colors that brought London runways over the rainbow. A chic and minimalist palette black, white and camel and luxe tailoring were the key to Spring 2011 collection.
The designer Clare Waight Keller explained to style.com her Spring collection as a sort of détente between two opposing elements of femininity: the frivolous and the pragmatic. But really what I saw it was lots of pragmatism and nothing frivolous about this collection ( maybe the fringe sandals!).
I must confess that I did not jump with excitement with this collection but I have to admit that it has an elegant simplicity and distinctive minimalism. This line can lose in creative boldness and irreverence but it seems aligned with the contention and prudence required by our times.
