LONDON FASHION WEEK SPRING 2011: Vivienne Westwood Red Label

Vivienne Westwood's red Label is always one of the most refreshing collections in London Fashion Week, and this Spring 2011 collection was no exception.

Vivienne Westwood has the great merit to bring tailoring basics to life in a very fresh and young way, and I loved that! If it is true that teenagers have begun to join tailoring basics to their wandrobe, like pants and jackets, and they descontruct them with bold patterns and colorful pieces, this is due to Vivienne Westwood.

Another thing I love in Westwood's designs is that they are very wearable, her garments are for real women who have boobs and bums, and she understand this very well.  The designer makes clothes for women of all ages, shapes and sizes.  You  can always find something in your size and that is flattering to your figure.  This collection was very commercial in that sense.

In this Spring 2011 collection, Vivienne Westwood did very commercial pieces without betraying her signature punk feel and traces of native peoples ethnic elements.

The collection had everything from tailored pants, jackets, shorts, shirts, jumpsuits and dresses... and we can say that the Westwood's Red Label went back to tailored basics with just the right  twist, and I predicted that in next Spring/Summer these pieces will be "copy past" by all street fashion labels, including the fast fashion ones.
