Beneath Kandahal, Ecology of Levels 1 to 4

The first level of Kandahal will be infested with Fungi from Yuggoth, there to extract minerals. The Fungi have turned many humans of Yusshut into mindless zombies to serve as slaves in the mines, and plan to use some of them for weird experiments (kept alive in vats filled with a strange radiant liquid). The Mi-Go are also having some problems with the Shoggoths that were imprisoned by the Elder Things in level two. Thus, they are trying to turn a bunch of Deep Ones into empowered zombies, to make their level safe.

The second level of Kandahal is infested with the above mentioned Shoggoths, who were isolated here, right after a bloody revolt, by the Elder Things that live in the third and fourth levels. This level has been devastated by the Shoggoths, who are trying to reach both the surface and the third level so to kill their one time masters.

Third and Fourth levels are the lair of the Primordial Ones. Those that live in the higher level are trying to keep the Shoggoths out, while the ones that lie in the lower one are working on a new species to supplant their old slaves. The Elder Things are well organized, but are not able to join forces with the Mi-Go that live in the first level to eliminate the revolting Shoggoths.
