Following Raggi's advice on monsters (i.e. every monster should be unique and coherent with its placement in the setting) I have decided to create new monsters specifically connected to the special encounters I mentioned in my previous post. The following is an example of such a monster (I used LL's statistics).
Mindless Slaves
No. Enc.: 1d6 (2d4)
Alignment: No
Movement: 120'
Armor Class: 5
Hit Dice: 4
Attacks: 3 or 1 (2 claws, 1 bite or by weapon)
Damage: 1d6/1d6/1d8 and poison or by weapon
Save: F6
Morale: 12
Hoard Class: None
XP: 190
These undead are created by Dr. Herbert East to serve as slaves. They are similar to zombies, but tougher, faster and way more dangerous to face in combat. The putrefaction process is kept under control through the use of a drug (a chemical compound derived from the maceration of white lotus petals), so that the Mindless Slaves are distinguishable from normal humans only by their very pale skin and from the sutures used during the removal of internal organs. The Mindless Slaves don't give off any odor. They will execute any command given by their creator, including committing suicide, kill their master and so on. The bite of the Mindless Slaves is poisonous: it release a toxin that corrupts the tissues at high speed, turning the victim into a Zombie within seven days of the attack, and it's curable only by a Cure Disease spell. A Saving Throw versus poison is allowed to avoid the effect (if the character saves he will henceforth be immune to this poison).
