Pet Store Animals, Excluding the Fish, Being Removed From Mall
Employees with the McKamey Animal Shelter and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture are removing all the animals, excluding the fish, from a Chattanooga pet store Tuesday morning.
Since January, The Pet Company in Hamilton Place Mall has received several warnings from McKamey officials about the conditions in which the animals were kept, according to a Chattanooga Police Department advisory. Numerous complaints originated from store employees and customers.
Representatives from the Pet Company are due in court on July 1 where a judge will determine what will be done with the animals.
